From country grub to local luxury in the Loire Valley

In the pristine, chateau-banked river of the Loire Valley, foodies must experience two ways to dine: the rustic and the fine. Au P’tit Goûter in Sancerre is the traditional choice where you find classics like steak frites and friendly service with good wine knowledge. The cheese selection is heaven, bien sûr. For fine dining, Le Plaisir Gourmand, the restaurant at Château du Coudray Montpensier, near Chinon, promises locally sourced cuisine to satisfy the most picky of palates. The chef is inspired by wild fish, farm-raised meats, and artisanal cheeses. A visit to the gardens is a must.
