Discover the new multimedia show "Monet, Renoir... Chagall. Voyages en Méditerranée" (Journeys around the Mediterranean) projected onto the Carrieres de Lumières huge quarries'walls until 5 January 2014. It will take you through the painters journeys around the Mediterranean from Impressionism to Fauvism and right up to contemporary art.
With the endorsement of Marseille-Provence 2013 – European capital of culture, this show uses multimedia capability as a vehicle to convey emotion and invite visitors to wander freely around the quarries following the variations of 16 great artists on the subject of the Mediterranean.
Do not miss the other show "Dream" which is shorter and take you through the elements in all their incredible diversity, from tornados and the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of outer space.
Extracts from the film "le Testament d'Orphée" by Jean Cocteau, filmed at the heart of the quarries in 1959, are also screened in a new space.
The Carrières is open every day.
