For over 20 years, the greatest champions in the women's golf world have competed on the fairway of the Evian Resort Golf Club.
Annika Sorenstam, Laura Davies, Helen Alfredsson, Lorena Ochoa, Ai Miyazato, Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie... these players have made the former Evian Masters into the top major Golf championship in Continental Europe. The competition changed its name in 2013 to become The Evian Championship, and is now the fifth most important golf tournament alongside the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA Championship, the U.S. Women's Open (USA) and the Women's British Open (Great Britain).
Now organized at the end of the season, The Evian Championship will see the best players in world golf on the podium in Evian at the end of the five Majors.
In mid-July 2013, the new course for the Evian Championship was unveiled. This year once again the Evian Championship looks to be a spectacular event, an international competition which remains environmentally friendly.
