    The Vendôme Pavillon

    An 18th-century jewel.

The Vendôme Pavillon in Aix-en-Provence, the most attractive of follies inherited from the 18th century, was commissioned by Louis Mercoeur to house his passionate love for Lucrèce de Forbin Solliès. Surrounded by a beautiful French garden, the main facade superimposes the three main classical orders and is adorned by superb Baroque atlantes. The collection is made up of numerous 17th and 18th century portraits and Provençal furniture.
