The Astronomical Clock in Strasbourg Cathedral is a Renaissance masterpiece, the fruit of a collaboration between artists, mathematicians and technicians. Swiss watchmakers, sculptors, painters and automata designers worked in concert on this impressive project. The current mechanism dates to 1842.
The Astronomical Clock is especially popular due to the clockwork display, which at half past twelve everyday goes through the motions of the entire show. Just like clockwork!
