Across a huge area stand an army of granite megaliths, menhirs and menhir statues. Bearing witness to the Neolithic period, the site of Cauria constitutes an important historic place on the island. During its excavation, the site revealed much information about daily life during this era and its occupation.
The rocky outcrops of the Punta du Gregu and the Fontanaccia dolmen are perhaps the most symbolic of the historical remains. Statues bear witness to primitive island art. At the Cauria site, the history of Corsica continues to be written.
