    Sainte-Réparate Cathedral in Nice

In tribute to the patron saint…

The Sainte-Réparate cathedral in Nice was built by Nice-born architect J-A. Guilberto.
Construction ended in 1650, and it was dedicated to the patron saint of the city, Sainte-Réparate: martyred at the age of 15, according to legend her body was placed in a boat, accompanied by two angels, and washed up on the beach in Nice.

The building has a splendid Genoese-inspired dome, covered with thousands of glazed tiles.
