    Prehistory national museum

    The Vézère valley…

The national prehistory museum brings together the biggest Palaeolithic collection in France: from Palaeolithic to prehistory, visitors are offered a unique collection from prehistoric sites in the Vézère valley.

These sites are right in the middle of World Heritage locations, and the national prehistory museum takes you back through the 400 millennia of the long history of humankind.
Stone tools, artistic objects in bone or ivory, sculptures, life-sized re-enactments, all of these help the public to understand the evolution of prehistoric societies right up to the end of the ice age.
