    National Navy Museum of Toulon

    Toulon, heir of Arsenal royal.

Created at the end of the First Empire and opened to the public in 1814, the Marine museum of Toulon is, since 1981, installed beside the tower clock of the arsenal, one of the rare historical sites of the city that survived the Second World War.
A real reference to the arsenal of Toulon as it preserves the majestic monumental gate dated 1738, the museum shows the maritime Mediterranean tradition through an exceptional collection of ship and galley models.
The collections retrace the evolution of the port from the wooden naval construction in the eighteenth century to the arrival of steam battleships and military vessels of the twentieth century.
