    Massif Central: wide open spaces

Massif Central is well-known in France for its wild and scenic rivers (Loire, Allier), its gorgeous canyons (Tarn, Jonte) and its incredible variety of volcanoes (Puy de Dôme).

It is also the biggest concentration of natural parks in Western Europe, with 11 parks covering 26 810 km2 (32% of total area of Massif Central). Their names (Cévennes, Millevaches…) bring back scents of flowers and history.

Coming with this invitation to Nature, in winter, you will find interesting ski resorts with all the usual sports (downhill and Nordic skiing, snowshoes, huskies, and paragliding). And all year long, the water cities will offer you the gentle warmth of thermal waters for your relaxation and well-being.

Dominated by the Puy of Sancy
at 1886 metres, the Sancy massif is
the dreamed destination for those who are keen on downhill
skiing, Nordic skiing and for the new glides seekers. These winter
sports resorts offer a variety of leisure activities: winter sports to take
some fresh air, thermal treatments to sit back and recharge the batteries, and
auvergnat inns to warm oneself up and benefit from an authentic atmosphere
    around a truffade. The
Massif of Sancy’s resorts fits in a long tradition of familial reception and
three of them have received the label
    family plus
, the guarantee of the warmest of welcomes for families and
children (La Bourboule, Super Besse and
    Le Mont Dore
    ).

You might need more than one trip to cover all the leisure and activities provided by Massif Central, its nature and inhabitants.
