With a long and robust tradition of cheese-making, the Upper Jura can justifiably boast of producing some of the best French cheeses. At the Maison des Fromages (House of Cheeses), you can learn all about this local heritage.
Each step in the cheese-making process is explained, from milk to final product. The visit ends with a video presentation.
In the cheese shop, you’ll find varieties like Comté, Morbier, Bleu de Gex, Tomme du Jura, Mousseron and Raclette, as well as quark in individual draining baskets, butter, cream and raw milk.
Closed on 1 January and 25 December
