Maison Diamantée - Museum of Old Marseilles

One of the oldest Marseillan residences.

Le Musée du Vieux-Marseille (Museum of Old Marseilles) was born of the great folkloric movement at the end of the 19th century when, in Provence, a particular power came to be known around Frédéric Mistral and the Félibrige. The collections of Musée du Vieux-Marseille were located in Maison Diamantée (Diamond-Studded House) in 1967.

Maison Diamantée is situated at the heart of the Vieux-Port neighbourhood, near the prestigious group of buildings that make up Hôtel de Ville. Built at the end of the 16th century, Maison Diamantée is, along with Hôtel de Cabre, one of the oldest houses in Marseille.
