At the heart of the Bois de la Citadelle, the Parc zoologique de Lille takes the public on a journey around the world accompanied by 70 different species. The children press themselves closely around the aviaries to get a close look at the evolution of the lemurs of Madagascar, the birds with flamboyant feathers and various carnivores.
Marmosets and tamarinds share the tropical building with reptiles, from the most peaceful (turtlesor iguanas) to the most intimidating such as the pythons or boas. The rhinos and the zebras are the ambassadors of Africa while the tapirs, the maras and the alpacas represent South America.
