Rendez-vous at the Château of Rambouillet

A furnished Château in which the “appartements d’Assemblée” are decorated with superb rocaille paneling

Over the course of time, this 14th century fortified castle has been home to a number of illustrious people who gradually transformed it into a delightful residence acquired by Louis XVI. The royal estate is now a presidential residence, open to the public, and used at intervals to receive heads of state invited to France.

It contains some magnificent examples of interior decoration, such as the marble chambers, the rococo decorations in the “Marie-Antoinette” apartments, or those used by Napoleon in neo-Pompeian style

This site has received the "Outstanding Garden" label, and it is surrounded by a formal garden, canals, and five islands.

The visit includes the castle, the Queen’s Dairy, and the shell cottage.
