    Clermont-Ferrand - Saint-Etienne - Lyon: A volcanic atmosphere

From the volcanoes of Auvergne to the foothills of the Alps, prepare to experience unforgettable locations! At the foot of volcanoes and in a natural setting that will take your breath away, in Clermont-Ferrand, famed around the world for the Aventure Michelin museum, its short films festival and for being the capital of rock, you really run the risk of getting caught up in the city’s love of rugby. At the same time, discover Saint-Etienne, a city of culture, designers and football. Don’t forget to take a gastronomic detour to Lyon and its “bouchons”, traditional restaurants.

    CLERMONT-FERRAND

The city has been indisputably marked by Michelin which bequeathed it a remarkable restored industrial heritage. For adventurous types, it will be possible to ascend to the summit of the Puy de Dôme on a rack railway from June 2012. Clermont-Ferrand is also defined by its Gothic cathedral and its Romanesque Notre Dame du Port basilica, which are really worth a visit before wandering through the city centre.

Take the time to taste the chocolate specialities of this city, and discover the collections of the 3 major museums in the city (Musée d’Art Moderne, Musée de la Mine, and the bicycle, ribbon and arms collections at the Musée d'Art et d’Industrie). Dynamic, innovative and highly cultured, the city has an extraordinary profile with exemplary architectural creations like the Cité du Design and the Zénith.
